Step 1: Download the COOLFLY App
To bring your backyard birdwatching experience to life, start by downloading the COOLFLY App.
Open your phone, search for COOLFLY in the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code on the box packaging to download and install the app.
Step 2: Power On Your Camera
Now it's time to bring your camera to life! Press and hold the power button for 3 to 5 seconds. When the status light turns a steady blue, your camera is powered on. After you hear the startup chime, press the power button twice to enter pairing mode — indicated by a flashing blue light and a soft chime.
Once the camera enters pairing mode, open the Device page in the COOLFLY App and tap Add My Device. Then scan the pairing QR code. You can find the QR code in two convenient places: on the side of the camera or on the front cover of the quick start guide.
Tip 1: In some cases, holding the power button for 3 seconds will directly start pairing.
Tip 2: Don't forget to turn on camera access in the COOLFLY App before scanning the QR code.
Step 3: Connect to Wi-Fi
After scanning the pairing QR code, the app will automatically take you to the Wi-Fi connection page.
First, turn on Bluetooth and allow the COOLFLY App to access it. Next, make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4G Wi-Fi network, enter the correct password, then tap Next Step, followed by Confirm and Allow.
In just a few seconds, you'll see ''Successfully added device'' !
The final step — give your new device a meaningful name!
Tip: The camera only works with 2.4G Wi-Fi, not 5G. This ensures stable performance and compatibility even in complex environments.
