Questions before you choose?

How do I choose between Flex10 and Flex20?

Choose by the distance from the camera to where birds will land: Flex10 is designed for 3–10 inches, while Flex20 is designed for 8–20 inches. Both offer Camera Only and Ready-to-Watch Kit options.

What is the difference between Camera Only and the kit?

Camera Only includes the Flex20 camera, without the Gooseneck Mount or 2W Solar Panel. The Ready-to-Watch Kit includes all three. A feeder or bird bath is not included.

Will it work with my existing feeder?

Flex is a separate camera, so you can position it near an existing feeder, bird bath, or perch. Check that your mounting surface fits the chosen mount and that birds will be 8–20 inches from the camera.

Does bird identification require a subscription?

No. Core AI Bird ID is included for life without a required paid subscription. This does not mean every App feature or cloud storage option is free or unlimited.

What do I need for setup?

You need the COOLFLY App, a compatible mounting position, and a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal at the installation spot. Charge and pair the camera before positioning it outdoors. The solar panel supports charging in suitable sunlight.

This AI bird camera offers excellent 2.5K video quality and solar charging. Customers said setup is easy and the flexible mount provides versatile placement. The AI identification feature is fun but not always accurate. Some experienced app connectivity issues and motion sensitivity challenges. "Great value for the money" with no subscription required.

Love it. Saw activity that I never knew was happening at my feeder.

More versatile than birdfeeder-cams

No photos, sorry. Ot is a bit late in the season for birds we get around here other than the ones who make a mess of the feeders (and squirrels).

Our family has several "bird-feeder cams" and has fun sharing. Our daugher has given names to her regular guests.

What I like most about this is you can place it anywhere, not just part of a built-in feeder. I am looking forward to next spring's new arrivals.

Love it.

It’s a fun way to watch the birds that visit my yard without having to constantly check a regular camera.

The solar charging is a nice feature because I don’t have to worry about changing batteries all the time. The camera was also fairly easy to set up and get working.

I like being able to see the birds up close and capture pictures and videos. The AI bird identification feature is also a fun extra and makes it more interesting to see which birds are visiting.

Overall, I’m happy with this camera so far. It’s enjoyable to use, and I think it’s a great little addition for anyone who enjoys watching birds.

Solid equipment, poor software/connectivity

Opening the package, I was pretty impressed! The flexible gooseneck arm for holding the camera seemed really solid and the little solar panel was easy to get running..it all went downhill when it comes to actually accessing the video stream. I set mine up to watch the feral cats....when I access the feed it says the connection is too slow yet shows a very solid wifi connection. The screen also has only successfully loaded twice...I don't think this will be up for long term at this rate. Maybe someone else is smarter than I but I'm not a total doofus....

Solar powered, clear images, great software for bird recognition!

I have several bird feeders in one location and wanted a way to view them up close without disturbing them. This camera is water resistant, solar-powered or USB-C chargeable, and clips to just about anything, with an adjustable goose-neck mount. I attached it to the trunk of a bush growing near my feeders and the birds continued about their business like it wasn’t there. The solar panel seemed small to me but in this summer sun, it’s kept the camera fully charged. We haven’t had days of overcast yet like we will in the winter, but I know I can bring it in and charge it.

The clip apparatus screws down tight and even in strong winds, the camera has stayed in place. I have had some issues keeping the USB-C cord from the solar panel securely in the place at the bottom of the camera though. I have had to re-seat it a few times and cannot see anything blocking it or causing it to feel ‘soft’ when plugging it in. The instructions explicitly say not to hang the camera with the connector facing up due to weather, which I understand, but I wonder if that would solve the problem of the cord working loose.

The picture quality is great and the software, Coolfly, is one I already use on a different solar-camera feeder, so connecting and adding this camera was easy. I would like to see the camera have more of a fish eye lens, but it takes crisp video and images and I can’t complain. The software will also make a good attempt at identifying bird species, so you’ll learn a lot. We’ve been seeing hummingbirds as they migrate south - something they are too fast and small for detailed viewing in the wild. This is a good set-up if you want to watch birds and wildlife. The cost is higher than a typical solar video camera, but the software and bird ID feature really does make this more than a surveillance camera.

Great Camera, App Took a Little Patience

I set this up in my yard beside our bird feeder, and installation was pretty easy. I was actually surprised by how good the camera quality is. The picture is clear enough to get a really nice view of the birds around the feeder, which is obviously the main reason I wanted it.

Connecting it to Wi-Fi was easy as long as I kept it close enough to the house to get a good signal. That's something to keep in mind when deciding where to put it, especially if your bird feeder is farther out in the yard.

I did have some trouble getting everything working correctly with the app at first. I eventually got it figured out, but the setup wasn't quite as smooth as I would have liked.

The solar charging has done its job so far and the camera has stayed charged, so I haven't had to keep bringing it inside to charge it.

Overall, I'm really happy with the camera itself. The picture quality was better than I expected, installation was simple, and the solar panel has kept up with the battery. I took off one star mainly because of the trouble I had with the app.

Solar Bird Camera

This smart solar bird camera is a fantastic way to watch backyard birds without running power cables across the yard. The modular design gives you several placement options, including a pole, tree, or wall, and the flexible 8-to-20-inch reach makes it easier to frame the feeder and surrounding area. The 2.5K video resolution should provide clear footage, while the AI bird-identification feature adds an educational element for anyone interested in learning what visits their yard. The IP65 splash resistance is also reassuring for outdoor use. A great setup for bird lovers, families, and anyone who enjoys backyard wildlife. It was a breeze to get connected! Excellent battery life since it's solar, great value for the money, and super durable.

Unique bird cam

Unique bird cam
So there’s things I really like about this
first I like that it’s not on a feeder because every year the racoons and squirrels sit on my bird feeder cam and eat all the seed because it’s easy to get out of those and eventually i get a big racoon that either breaks it or keeps getting it so muddy I can’t see anyways
I like that it’s on a flexible neck that can be turned anyway you want
The pics you take or videos save directly to your photos
And the pic isn’t too bad pretty good actually except i cannot figure out how to zoom in
I am no more than 18 inches from the bird feeders and I feel like I can’t really get a good look
The clip is for a pole only really I had no way to attach it to the tree I normally use so I got an old bird feeder pole and mounted it on there
It came nicely packaged with great instructions and
It was really easy to assemble

It has the typical light and alarm and microphone like other feeder cams have and there’s an option for a different view on the screen too…. Nice touch
It’s not lacking in any way as far as a bird feeder cam goes
My concerns center around the not being able to Zoom and only being 18 inches away (at most ) I feel like I’m not getting a good look like you do on most feeder cams ….. next i have another pole out there with nothing but this on it …. I’m not sure about that it’s ok but adding a strap for a tree woulda been a nice touch and finally the price this cam is as much as feeder cams were when they first came out and it’s just the camera and some hardware ….. I don’t think it’s really worth that much but like i said it is unique and it’s not bad by any means so just on the idea and cam itself I’d rate it 4 stars but without the typical finger pinch zoom and the only one way to mount I’m not sure this will be for me however on the other hand the wildlife will not break this because there’s no food attracting them
Anyway it’s an ok product but not worth the price in my opinion.

Does it's job but a bit pricey!

This is a really cool bird camera. I'm very happy to have received this. It has excellent camera quality, I receive positive feedback.

The night vision on this is excellent as well. I also love the blue color of this bird feeder, because it's it's the type of blue that blends in with the green so that's pretty cool. The solar on this works excellently, and it does last a long time. But one thing that I will say about this is it is expensive for my liking, but overall, I'm very happy to have received this!!

Great Quality, No Subscription, Easy to Position

The CoolFly Flex20 camera has great image quality and is easy to attach anywhere. The camera was easy to set up within the CoolFly app, which handles bird identification, sends notifications, has a dashboard, and lets you configure multiple camera settings, all with no extra cost or subscription required. The AI identification is decent but not always spot on, though you can manually adjust the bird so it groups them correctly in your visits by bird view. You can easily download and save any of the videos as well.

The night vision holds up well too. This camera gets its best view when the bird is 8-20 inches away, though there's also a 3-10 inch option if you want to video at a closer distance. The whole setup is compact, a small solar panel connects to a clip that can hold everything on a pole, feeder, or tree. It has a bendy arm that screws into the clip and lets you position the camera exactly where you want it. There are also two screw holes on the camera itself, which gives extra adjustability for where the bendy arm attaches.

The aqua color is pretty, but it does draw attention from a distance since it's such a bright color. I'm happy with this camera and love the versatility of being able to place it wherever I want instead of being locked into a specific feeder.

Solar Bird Camera and a Decent FREE App

We replaced a model that required weekly charging with this solar version and it's worth it. If you want an easy-to-maintain way to watch backyard visitors, this is a good choice.

Pros:
-Solar recharging actually works. I can't attest to how long it lasts.
-Live view is my favorite feature, perfect for watching birds swoop in when we put out fresh seed.
-The free app includes three days of unlimited 30-second video cloud clips. (Paid versions offer more storage)
-Bird identification is impressively accurate, even distinguishing chickadee types.
-The app has many adjustable settings so make sure to explore those to fit your uses (especially sensitivity, on/off times).
-I like that nothing is stored on the my camera unless downloaded.
-Pole mount worked great although the neck to the camera wasn't as stiff as it could be. We might add a zip tie to the pole for extra support during winter weather.

Cons (FYIs):
-App setup isn't a snap. Do the initial connection before you mount the camera to save frustration.
-Video clips are often late triggering/recording, so we often miss the start of a visit.
-The camera is trigger-happy by default, picking up trees, lawn mowing, and other movement. You will need to tweak motion sensitivity and zones to cut down on false clips.

Tips:
-Walk through the instructions. We thought we knew what we were doing, but still missed an app connection piece.
-Complete the app connection indoors or within reach of Wi Fi before installation.
-After three days the clips are removed from cloud storage, and since nothing is stored on the camera make sure to download something if you want to keep it.
-Check out the settings in the app to experiment with sensitivity and detection zones to reduce false triggers.
-If you want keepsakes, download favorite clips right away, since the free cloud only holds three days of history.
-Our version is pole mounted, make sure that's what you need.
-Always be courteous with what you are recording in the background of your feeder (I wouldn't want to be your neighbor with a bird camera pointed at my window).

For the combination of solar convenience, live viewing, and a decent free app, this camera offers good value.

A Fun, Smart Upgrade for Backyard Bird Watching

This smart solar bird camera delivers impressive clarity with its 2.5K HD video, and the built‑in AI bird identification is surprisingly accurate. The modular Flex20 Aqua design is a standout feature—being able to mount it on a pole, tree, or wall makes it easy to position for the perfect angle. The 8–20 inch reach is ideal for framing a full bird bath or feeder scene without distortion.

The solar panel keeps the camera powered consistently, and the IP65 splash‑resistant rating holds up well outdoors. Setup was straightforward, notifications come through quickly, and the footage looks sharp even in mixed lighting. A great choice for anyone who wants reliable bird‑watching tech with flexible installation options.

Incredible technology for birders!

This is an incredible piece of technology for birders. My wife and I have become birdwatchers at our houses in Maine and Florida. We have multiple feeders out , seed, nectar, thistle, suet etc and we attract dozens of different species of birds. We especially love our hummingbirds who return year after year and entertain us. This COOLFLY AI camera is going to expand our bird watching enjoyment. This is such a COOL device. It came beautifully packaged and has everything you need to record birds (and other animals I imagine) via motion detectors built into the camera. The included solar panel will keep the camera powered and ready to go (sun permitting). It has a great clamp and flexible extension pole to mount the camera almost anywhere. There is a COOLFLY app which you download and will show you the recordings from the day and identify what birds came to the feeder. I have not set it up as yet as Fall is here and many of the birds here in Maine have begun their migration south, so the selection won't be as great. I think I will wait to set this up later this month in Florida. I am so impressed with the equipment. It is really well made and is even weather proof rated, so rain, snow, fog won't hurt the camera. It has a handy information booklet too, and there are numerous YouTube posts which can help you set it up. I am really, really impressed with this birding camera system. Once I have it set up and have images to show, I will update my review. Until then I will learn all there is to know about setting this up and getting the most out of it.

great camera, questionable app

We were so excited to receive this solar bird camera to finally start capturing some of the birds we have around our feeders. Set up was pretty straightforward, and once we mounted camera and solar charger, we got incoming images right away! The solar charger does a great job keeping the camera powered up, even overnight with the camera's built in battery. It was easy to share access to the camera/app between us (up to 5 on the free plan IIRC). We have the camera pointed at a seed feeder and hummingbird feeder in close proximity to one another, so the wasps around the hummingbird feeder tend to trigger captures even with the lowest motion sensitivity setting. Great clarity photo and videos automatically saved to the gallery in the app.
Unfortunately, although the camera does have an SD slot, no SD Card is included. The gooseneck connector I found to be a it flimsy, and honestly a bit too short, especially if you want to mount your camera on the same pole as your feeder. The clamp itself is fine, but definitely not made for larger poles. The WiFi connectivity is a bit spotty as well between the camera and your nearest WiFi access point. The signal shows strong to the camera from the router, but the camera app indicates a weak signal from the camera - I'm not sure why (or even if) there's a discrepancy, and there's no way to check it in the app.
The app has a lot going for it, especially if you're a fairly serious bird watcher - plenty of capture options, and sharing option, and group joining options, but the most disappointing thing about the app was the identification algorithms. The app literally can't tell the difference between a squirrel and giant condor, and will alert you a giant condor has been spotted! Also I'm in Colorado, and I'm quite certain there aren't any American Flamingos (maybe the wasps with their dangly legs?). I get the AI assisted recognition algorithm needs some training, but if an amateur like me is relying on the app to identify species, why on earth would you want to rely on an amateur like me to train your AI database?
There are certainly better and more accurate systems on the market, and while this one's OK for a beginner, the proprietary app tries a bit too hard and falls short of expectations for the price point.
